Permitting

Because the Florida Scrub-Jay is federally-listed as Threatened, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service handles all regulatory actions for scrub-jays. Landowners wishing to develop parcels in scrub-jay habitat, potential habitat, or within review areas should contact USFWS. Owners of parcels in Charlotte County should also be aware of the Charolette County Scrub-jay Review Procedure, found here.
